On the 4th, SBS News reported about JYJ’s performances in Tokyo Dome that attracted 150,000 fans. Netizens condemned the news report, “[SBS] changed ‘JYJ fans’ into ‘Hallyu fans’ in its broadcast.”

Lasted for 3 days, JYJ’s “The Return of JYJ” concert took place in Tokyo Dome from the 2nd to the 4th. About this event, SBS News’s report claimed, “Though Korea-Japan relations came to a halt, JYJ is able to have hallyu performance in Japan. It seems that the situation for Hallyu wave bettered as there has been continuous large-scale performances by Hallyu stars since last year.”
Netizens criticized heavily towards this report.

One netizen (soce****) commented, “how can a group that couldn’t even perform in Korea count as a Hallyu group? Isn’t the fact that JYJ couldn’t conduct activities in Korea a result of SM’s doings? [SBS] cannot call JYJ fans hallyu fans, instead they are people who waited…

Part 1. First Meeting

1. That Summer that Was So Cold

Without saying much, they awaited the time when people would eventually know what it was they had wanted, and what it was they were trying to say. Although they did not know when that time would come, they were certain that it couldn’t be “like this, right now” forever.

In the end, they went in search of ‘happiness’ and ‘dreams’. Their footsteps were heavy with a fear of the uncertain future. But they felt that they could overcome the heavy footsteps and the fear for true happiness and their dreams.

With that, they became one through the name “JYJ”.

JYJ hadn’t been in Japan for the past three years since breaking away from Avex, but they never forgot about their Japanese fans and vice versa.

During a press conference for their ‘2013 JYJ Concert in Tokyo dome – The return of the JYJ’ held on the 4th, JYJ opened up about how much they missed Japan and their fans.

Junsu shared, “When we stood on the Tokyo Dome stage three year ago, it signified a new beginning for us. Through that stage, we tried to start again as JYJ, but we never dreamed that it would be our final stage. JYJ

JYJ received a raving welcome from fans in Japan as the group held concerts from Tuesday to Thursday at the Tokyo Dome.

A total of 150,000 tickets were sold for the three events, and they sold out almost immediately after 300,000 people tried to access the ticketing Web site when they went on sale last month. To make sure that fans were not disappointed, the three-member group decided to stream the concerts live at local movie theaters. During the last event, 113 theaters participated.

The group also set a record by having concerts for three consecutive days at the venue. Other Korean acts including Rain, KARA and Big Bang only had two-day stints.

The fact that the concerts were held on weekdays also attests to JYJ’s star power, said one Japanese entertainment agency, according to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.

The group had previously been…

Q: First of all, tell us about your feelings before the concert.

Kim Junsu: I feel honored to be here for concert after 3 years. 3 years ago, I felt something special when we held our concert for the first time at here, as JYJ. This time-we have our concert again at Tokyo Dome-is more special moment for us than before we did. It took quite long time than we expected until we came back here. So we try to do our best as we can finish this concert well even we have no regret.

Kim Jaejoong: We were worried about the seats of our concert would remain unfilled, but many fans came and come here as we can’t feel our hiatus. We can realize that many fans have trusted us until now. The support and passion that fans give us.. There was nothing to change except the time-3 years.
